There are several themes running through this body of work. Travel, transformation and companionship are some of them. The creatures in these paintings are like children learning what it means to share, grow and live with one another. They are innocent characters looking to transform an ordinary life into a magical one, sometimes that means leaving the nest...

*During this time period I was using oil paints. It turns out I am very allergic to them, that is why oil shows up very briefly in my work.
